Kolibri Gallery is pleased to announce the representation of Christina Elias.

Based in Lisbon, Christina moves between dance and the visual arts, with the body at the centre of a practice shaped by movement, gesture, image, text and material trace.

Her work explores passage in its many forms, through time, space and the body, allowing performance to persist beyond the moment in which it takes place.

Escuridão, silêncio, distância. Em Nach Hause Kommen, André Miagui parte da observação astronômica para criar espaços que nunca chegam a se definir completamente como paisagens.

Bastão a óleo, pigmentos e superfícies texturizadas transitam entre luz e sombra, proximidade e profundidade, como se cada pintura revelasse um lugar ainda em formação.

O que permanece de uma performance quando a ação termina?

Para a artista e coreógrafa Christina Elias, uma obra pode surgir durante uma performance ou permanecer como consequência material dela, carregando vestígios do gesto, do movimento e do tempo para um outro espaço.

Neste vídeo, Christina fala sobre o que espera do encontro entre o espectador e essas obras quando chegam ao espaço da galeria, já distantes da performance que lhes deu origem.

Under Heat brings together ceramic works by Bárbara Penaforte shaped through a direct and physical engagement with clay.

Pressing, cutting, joining and firing become part of the works themselves, leaving gestures, traces and tensions visible across their surfaces. Moving between reliefs, vessel-like forms and sculptural arrangements, the exhibition follows matter through pressure, transformation and heat.
