🧭 Did Vikings have a compass?

Welcome to Viking Mysteries where we separate fact, legend, and the mysteries that still remain.

In Greenland, archaeologists found the Uunartoq disc a strange Viking-Age object that may have been used to navigate using the Sun. ☀️🌊

Experiments show the idea could work… but we still don’t know if that’s what the object was actually made for.

So, did Vikings navigate the oceans with a solar compass?

That is what we know. The rest is still a Viking mystery. 🛡️
