Nature Between Abstraction and Realism: Janis Zingitis | Between the Columns at Golden Ratio Gallery
Golden Ratio Gallery presenteert met trots “Nature Between Abstraction and Realism”, een tentoonstelling van de hedendaagse Letse schilder Jānis Ziņģītis, te zien in Between the Columns — onze speciale tentoonstellingsruimte voor kunstenaarspresentaties en bijzondere projecten.
Op het eerste gezicht lijken de schilderijen van Ziņģītis opmerkelijk realistische weergaven van bossen, rivieren, meren en kustlandschappen. Bij nader inzien onthult zich echter een rijke schilderkunstige beeldtaal, opgebouwd uit expressieve penseelstreken, gefragmenteerde vormen en abstracte kleurvlakken. Terwijl de kijker beweegt tussen afstand en nabijheid, vindt een fascinerende transformatie plaats: abstractie ontvouwt zich geleidelijk tot landschap, terwijl realisme oplost in gebaar en verf.
Alle werken in de tentoonstelling zijn beschikbaar voor aankoop.

Golden Ratio Gallery presents Nature Between Abstraction and Realism, an exhibition by Latvian contemporary painter Jānis Ziņģītis, on view in Between the Columns—our dedicated exhibition space for artist presentations and special projects.
At first glance, Ziņģītis’ paintings appear as remarkably realistic depictions of forests, rivers, lakes, and coastal landscapes. Yet a closer look reveals a rich painterly surface composed of expressive brushstrokes, fragmented forms, and abstract passages of colour. Moving between distance and proximity, the viewer experiences a fascinating transformation: abstraction gradually resolves into landscape, while realism dissolves into gesture and paint.
