The World Cup has begun. And while we dream of new glory, our thoughts drift back to that one unforgettable day: June 25, 1988. The day the Netherlands became European champions for the first, and so far, only time.
One day later, Amsterdam turned into one giant street celebration. Hundreds of thousands of supporters gathered along the canals to cheer on the players. The crowds were so large that some houseboats nearly sank under the weight of the revelers. Bridges, piers, and rooftops were packed with people, and everywhere there was singing and cheering.
And that is exactly why this is Dani’s favorite miniature:
“I think it has been recreated beautifully. The audio is absolutely perfect and really brings the scene to life. You can clearly see the chaos of that day!”
