Diamant Museum Amsterdam

Diamant Museum Amsterdam The diamond museum Amsterdam is a museum located at the Museumplein in Amsterdam. The museum was founded in 2007 by Ben Meier of Coster Diamonds.

The Tiffany Yellow Diamond is one of the largest yellow diamonds ever found. โœจ

The stone was discovered in the Kimberley mine in South Africa in 1878, and in rough form, it weighed 287.42 carats (57.484 g). Charles Lewis Tiffany, the founder of Tiffany, eventually bought the stone and had it cut in Paris into a cushion-shaped brilliant weighing 128.54 carats and 82 facets. That's 24 facets more than a traditional brilliant cut diamond. The diamond has been worn by Audrey Hepburn & Lady Gaga, among others. ๐Ÿ’›

The original diamond is exhibited in the United States in the Tiffany & Co. flagship store in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. In the Diamond Museum Amsterdam we have a unique replica. Check our website and learn more: diamondmuseum.com

Since the industrial revolution in the 19th century, diamonds, on account of their hardness, have had many applications: polishing discs, drills, chisels, but also in electronic appliances for drawing extremely thin and precise conducting wire, or in very precise medical instruments.
