In 1888, Paul Gauguin joined Vincent van Gogh in Arles, in the south of France, where the two artists lived and worked together for several months. 🎨 Their friendship and artistic collaboration had a profound influence on Vincent, but their very different personalities and ideas about art eventually led to a violent argument.

The aftermath marked the beginning of one of the most dramatic episodes in Van Gogh’s life the incident in which he mutilated his ear. Their time together was brief, but the artistic legacy of those months remains unforgettable.
