Het museum geeft boeken uit, maakt publicaties en adviseert over het onderwerp. In het souterrain is de museumwinkel gevestigd met een onverwachte keuze aan moderne pijpen voor pijprokers. Voor de echte liefhebber zijn er verzamelaarsitems en antiquiteiten tussen rokerskunst en rokerskitsch.

International Museum Day, an annual event to celebrate the culture and art kept by museums. For the Amsterdam Pipe Museum quite a unique event, since it was the first day we had no visitors at all !?!? This was Monday the 18th of May.

We offer you this tulip on a clay pipe dating from the time of the famous Dutch “tulip mania”. The tulip was so popular in 1635 that people paid easily 3000 guildas for one bulb!

In February 1637, this speculative bubble exploded; however, it was not the end of tulips being popular. Even tomorrow a milion people are expected to admire the Flower Parade ending in Haarlem!
