We are delighted to announce that ILHAM will be presenting Robert Rauschenberg and Asia from 16 June - 1 November 2026 on Level 5 of ILHAM Gallery.

The exhibition, organised by M+ in collaboration with ILHAM Gallery, represents the first comprehensive survey of Rauschenberg’s engagement with Asia. After its successful showing at M+ from 22 November 2025 to 26 April 2026, the exhibition travels to Kuala Lumpur as part of a collaboration between the two institutions, with support from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation in New York.

ILHAM Student Council Members, Danya, Emira, Aidil, and Alia, worked together to create a zine that compiles their reflections on their experience with the gallery as part of the Student Council programme.

Since our first meeting in March, our student members have practiced visual analysis, attended a moderated discussion with Marcos Kueh about his latest projects, and had an exclusive meeting with Kim Boudville where they learnt about the power of vulnerability and audacity in pursuing one’s aspirations, albeit as an artist, publisher, art therapist or anything! Through the ILHAM Student Council, we hope to foster creativity, inspiration and exposure within their learning practice.

A poem titled “Asuhan dan Dandanan/Rearing and Grooming” by Farris, an ILHAM Student Council Member. The poem is directly inspired by Umar Sharif’s art piece, Asuhan dan Dandanan (2025).

As we await the next exhibition at ILHAM, we’ve encouraged the student council members to reflect on the ILHAM Art Show and the programmes and discussions we’ve had so far. We’re keen to share the works some of the members have created from this prompt on Instagram so stay tuned!

At this month’s student council meeting, we welcomed the incredibly talented and multifaceted artist, Kim Boudville, to speak about her experience of creating and exhibiting “Here We Sit, In the Weight of Silence” in the Ilham Art Show 2025. She also shared about her broader practice as an art therapist and self-published book author and illustrator.

In the coming weeks, the students will be presenting content inspired by the Ilham Art Show in a social media takeover. Stay tuned!

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of artist Samsudin Wahab. Buden was in the first edition of the ILHAM Art Show (2022) with his wonderful work “Ibu-Pegun”, a sculpture made of coconut husks. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and all those who loved him.
