A significant moment for contemporary Indian art.

Ravinder Reddy’s KALI (2025) is currently on view at the State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg, as part of Sediments of Becoming: Fossilised Present, Summoned Pasts.

The exhibition marks the first dedicated presentation of contemporary Indian art in the Hermitage Museum’s 260-year history, bringing contemporary Indian voices into one of the world’s most significant cultural institutions.

Works developed by the resident artists during the 𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓 𝑰𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 2026 residency at Dotwalk Ajitara Art Residency (DAAR).

Summer Illumination is a two-month residency programme focused on the language of light in contemporary artistic practice. Bringing together artists working across painting, drawing, installation, and material-based practices, the residency encourages explorations of luminosity, atmosphere, clarity, and radiance through sustained studio engagement, mentorship, peer exchange, artist presentations, and immersive interaction with the surrounding landscape.
