Cork has become the first city in the world outside the United States of America to host the original Gilbert Baker Rainbow Flag - the global symbol of LGBTI+ pride, visibility, inclusion and equality.
This extraordinary piece of social and cultural history was unveiled at an event at Cork Public Museum in Fitzgerald’s Park last night where it will remain on public display for four months under the terms of a landmark loan agreement with the GLBT Historical Society in San Francisco.
This exhibition also coincides with the launch of Irelands first permanent LGBT exhibition. Titled: 'We Were Always Here'. Presented by the Cork LGBT Archive
The museum is open Tue-Sat, 10-4pm
All are welcome. Entry is free

We are delighted and excited to launch our brand-new 'Dig & Discover Boxes' for the very first time at our Medieval Day last Saturday!

A huge thank you to everyone who visited and got involved. These exciting hands-on learning resources are designed for schools and public groups, allowing participants to get up close with fascinating objects connected to Cork's history and gain an insight into the work of an archaeologist.
