An incredible 1:12 scale model of the Museum’s 1981 Lamborghini Countach LP400S. 🚗

Handcrafted by bespoke model maker David Hayward, each model is made from laminated European beech. Fine details such as bumpers and grilles are formed from brass or copper, then finished in nickel or chrome plating. 🛞

Each piece is built up with multiple layers of flexible coating, creating a stable base for up to 12 coats of paint.

👉 Our beautiful selection of David Hayward models can be found in the John Haynes: The Man & The Manuals exhibition as you first walk into the Museum.

98 years ago today, the 15 millionth Model T left the factory! 🚘

On this day in 1927, Henry Ford and his son Edsel drove the 15 millionth Model T out of the Ford Highland Park Michigan factory, marking the last day of production for the T.

The Model T ('Tin Lizzie' as it was affectionately known) was first introduced in October 1908. It initially sold for approximately $850 and later, no frills models were priced at just $260! 🌟
