We've got plenty happening throughout the month, from family activities and fascinating talks to exhibitions, trails and more.

What a summer it’s been! ☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us this summer. We’ve loved seeing you explore, play, learn and make memories with us.

And the fun doesn’t stop here! There’s plenty to look forward to, including Heritage Week, Halloween activities and our Christmas programme. Keep an eye out for more details coming soon!

Please note: we’re closed today, Monday 31 August, for the Bank Holiday. We’ll be back open tomorrow, Tuesday 1 September.

If you're buying the kids (or yourself) new shoes for the start of the school year, don't chuck the box away!

We're on the hunt for empty shoe boxes to help with something exciting for our upcoming Streets of Whitehaven exhibition.

Starting today!

Looking for a fun family activity? The Lotta and Lola Museum Trail starts today and runs until 13 September!

Inspired by the new and original series from Charlie and Lola creator Lauren Child, the trail will take you around The Beacon Museum to help Lotta and Lola collect kind and useful-ish words that help us all get along.

Complete the trail and collect a FREE sticker!

That’s right! Next weekend, Saturday 29 & Sunday 30 August, admission to The Beacon is completely FREE.

It couldn’t be easier… all you need to do is claim your free admission online!

And with Whitehaven Weekender happening across the harbour there’s even more reason to make a day of it!
