Big Badger Persecuted is very nearly finished, like 99%! But she's not home yet.... I'm expecting her to arrive the week after next, just in time to take her to Southern Nature Art in Hampshire for the August bank holiday weekend! Tom at Pangolin has done a very good job of the patination despite the intense heat, last week, in the patination shed. It happened to be the hottest day of the year, in the hottest part of England, in the hottest building on the site! A real endurance test.

I'm having a fun time at Pangolin Edditions in Stroud, fettling the wax of my sculpture of Susie the Dorchester cat, and overseeing the patination of my large Badger called 'Persecuted'. This life-size Badger is the third of an addition of 12, and the first that I've had for stock.

The patination shed at Pangolin is furnace hot in this sun as it is made of metal, so we've had to call it a day early, and we'll start again tomorrow.

Great to get the studio garden tidied up a bit after Lea has tamed the brambles from next door! I'm loving the daylilies. Every year they're a delight! I'd grow them at home, but I have a cat and lilies of any description are poisonous to cats, so I have to make the most of the ones at work. I also grow catnip here to take to my kitty once or twice a week. That way it doesn't get crushed to death before it gets even the slightest chance of starting to grow!!
I've also been making tiles which will have the same turquoise glaze as the big Nile Goddess here, for my bathroom walls, as I'm currently having a bathroom repair and upgrade.

On Monday I was at the Pangolin Edditions foundry, delivering my Susie the Dorchester cat sculpture, and ran into an old friend of mine! This big blue kiln was what the Nile Goddess was fired in, when we had three phase electrics with k***s on! Now Pangolin use it to melt out their waxes of their smaller pieces. It was lovely to see it again!

Such people need tougher sentencing and mental health treatment.

When someone is capable of inflicting this level of suffering on a defenseless animal, preventing future harm should become a priority. (108 signatures on petition)
