The next exhibition will focus on carnival in Mere. We have a fabulous collection of photos going back to 1919 when there was a Peace Carnival. It starts in July and hopefully will inspire you to enter the carnival this year.

Have you visited the exhibition yet?

More information will be added to the display as research is completed on the photos. There are so many people who have contributed to Mere particularly with all the clubs which we are so lucky to have. We have had some positive feedback from the public and also some help with unknown faces. More photos with unidentified people will be up soon on the green boards, please take a look when you are passing!

The new exhibition entitled "The Heart of Mere" is showcases the people of Mere who have helped to shape the town as we see it today. It highlights events, celebrations and professionals amongst others who have all contributed to it's success and development.

Do you have memories of events over the last 15 to 20 years which you would be willing to share with the museum. You can email them to [email protected] and the museum will print them with your permission for the collection.

Please do pop down and have a look at our new exhibition.

The Museum is pleased to announce that there is now a plaque in the Museum dedicated to Doctor Longbourne alongside a tribute to him in the tower cabinet. Without his dedication and hard work during his life time the Museum would not exist. We have a wonderful collection of photos and artefacts giving us a rich history of the local area many of them sourced by Doctor Longbourne. The museum will be adding to the tribute as items become available.
