What a wonderful first weekend of Christmas Elfstravaganza! 🎄🎅

Our Christmas festivities went down a treat, with jaw-dropping experiments, presents gifted in the North Pole Post Office and even real snow outside ❄️🎁

Set Sail with Science ⛵🌼

Thanks to the Dundee University Sailing Club, we've given an old boat a second life by transforming it into a stunning flowerbed with science-themed vinyl designs 🚤🌱🔬

V&A Dundee and Dundee Science Centre have joined forces to unravel the science behind Tartan!🧪

Immerse yourself in a world of tartan-themed activities. These include crafting Cipher Tartans by converting your name into unique tartan designs, experimenting with 'tartan' rainbows using sugar density, try your hand at tartan weaving, and discover the traditional methods of using natural dyes from leaves, bark, and small flowers💐

Our collaboration will run until Sunday 5th of November 2023, with free entry for children under 18!

🚀SPACE CAMP🚀

This October, 40 Dundee kids ventured into space at Dundee Science Centre's Space Camp!

🌍They explored space, zero-gravity living, and more, realising that space is everywhere, even in our daily lives, from using GPS to texting on their phones.

👨‍🚀 They also learned about astronaut landings, tasted space station food, and designed rockets. Plus, they discovered how satellites protected wildlife like penguins and whales!

**Severe Weather Update**

Dundee Science Centre remains open today (Thursday 19th) for our 9-11:30am session and our 12-2:30pm session. Due to the weather warning in the region, we have decided to cancel our 3:00-5:30pm session today. We have also taken the decision to close all our sessions for tomorrow. Our Café and Gift Shop will also remain closed during this time.

All visitors booked in for any session today or tomorrow can either cancel their booking and receive a full refund or alternatively they can move their booking to a future exhibition visit date. This can be done through your booking confirmation email. If you have any issues or questions please contact us at [email protected] or call 01382 228800.

We will keep you updated as the situation progresses over the weekend. We apologise for any inconvenience, but visitor and staff safety must remain our top priority.

Un-Beelievable Honey 🐝🍯

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming pupils and staff from Baldragon Academy to the centre to tell us about their Beekeeping journey!

The school began Beekeeping in 2021 and is now qualified to teach it at SQA qualification level. They have kindly allowed us to sell the award-winning honey in our shop, Curiosity Corner!

Our Outreach Adventures have really taken off! 🚀

We had the pleasure of hosting secondary schools from across Dundee and Angus recently as part of a special Developing The Young Workforce session. ✅

Whilst exploring the Centre and learning about the skills needed to work in tourism, the students took on the challenge of creating promotional videos, which they then presented to their class. We hope the event inspired some of their potential future career choices. 💼
