As we celebrate Artburst's 20th year, we are looking back at some of the wonderful inividuals we have had the pleasure of working with over the years. Today we are sharing a snapshot of Rhia's time with us, who was such an important part of our Artburst journey, and now over 10years later still sings along to all the Artburst songs at home with her very own little one.

Here is a snapshot of Rhia's time with us:

"I have so many memories, it’s hard to choose one, but one of my core memories at Artburst was during the summer holidays and we were doing a funded ‘Make a Play’ in Newham. A young boy, 12, was dragged along to accompany his sister, and probably to help his mum with childcare for the week. Morning of day one he was unengaged and too ‘cool’ for this kid stuff. By the last day, he was the main character, centre stage, fully immersed in the play and giving the performance of his life. Artburst has a wonderful way of engaging children back with their imagination, whatever age, and supporting them discover their creative side."

Thank you, Rhia, for all the hard work, dedication and amazing energy you brought to Artburst!

As our celebrations continue, we are looking back at some of the amazing individuals who have grown alongside us. Today, we’re sharing a beautiful reflection from Ola (Aleksandra), who joined the Artburst family back in 2018! 🎨🎭

Swipe through to see Ola’s in action - from Make & Paint sessions in Stoke Newington to school workshops and massive city-wide family events. Here is what Artburst meant to her journey:

“Artburst was such an important part of my story in London... I started in 2018 when I met you in the London Transport Museum and you kindly offered me facilitating Make and Paint sessions in Stoke Newington. During the next two years I took part in many incredible projects, worked with some fantastic primary schools in London and joined Artburst during family events across the city.

It was such a special time that allowed me to come out of my shell and discover myself in a new city. I grew in confidence and understood that working with children is my passion. Now, almost 8 years later I still thank everyone who I met on my path in Artburst for giving me all the opportunities and for forever being able to sing and dance to the “Moving Toys”.” 🎶🧸

Thank you, Ola, for bringing so much magic, passion, and pirate energy to our team! 🏴‍☠️❤️

A year of creativity and exploration at The Village School! 🎨✨

For the whole school year, the Artburst team has had the absolute privilege of running creative workshops with the wonderful pupils at The Village School. Working with children who have complex learning needs and disabilities reminds us every single day why accessible, multi-sensory art matters. 🌈

From tactile, textured masterpieces inspired by Van Gogh, to bold, geometric explorations of color and shape in the style of Mondrian, these brilliant artists have poured so much joy into their work. 🌻📐

We are incredibly proud of everything they’ve created, and we are absolutely delighted to share that we will be returning to The Village School next year for even more creative adventures! 🥳

A massive thank you to the staff, families, and, most importantly, the talented artists who made this year so unforgettable. 💙

✨20 years, and still thriving!✨

🌈As part of our 20th anniversary year, we are diving deep into the archives to share some beautiful memories. This one is dedicated to the amazing Jenny Mckenzie, who has been working with Artburst for nearly as long as we’ve been around! 🎨🖌️

🫟Swipe through the slides to relive some of Jenny’s greatest hits with us: through Covid and country park, from street to stage - we couldn’t have done some of our biggest projects without Jenny’s wealth of experience and creative flair. Thank you Jenny! 🤩

🎨 History you can feel, smell, and sing! 🦚✨

We recently wrapped up an incredible 4-week sensory sculpture project with the brilliant students at and Cricket Green School, inspired by the historical artefacts at the !

Led by our amazing facilitators Lee and Zoe, the children explored local history through their senses - crafting everything from gingerbread-scented Modroc biscuits to ultra-soft teddy bear pillows and glittery peacock feathers. Every piece came together to form a beautiful, interactive curtain sculpture full of rich textures and scents.

We love what the teachers had to say about the impact: 💬 “The workshops were very thoughtfully designed and delivered to be inclusive for all students...” - Serafina Min, Linden Lodge School 💬

“Everything was amazing and so organised... I think every class should have a chance to be part of it.” - Foteini Prodromidou, Cricket Green School

A massive thank you to Wimbledon Museum funders, The Wimbledon District Nursing and Midwifery Benevolent Society, for making this inclusive arts programming possible!

👉 Head to the link in our bio to explore our accessible workshops and see how we bring learning to life through drama, art, and song. 🎶

From Manchester to London with a suitcase and a passion for art! 🎨✨

As part of our celebrations, we’re looking back with GabbyJahanshahi-Edlin ( ) Before she was changing the world, she was here with us, facilitating magic!

Gabby remembers her time at Artburst as “life enhancing and soulful,” from the joy of collecting materials to the pride on children’s faces after a performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. 🍫🍭

In Gabby’s words: “It’s incredible, in this age of funding pressures, that Artburst is 20 years old! It’s a testament to the brilliant work of the team and the wonderful children.”

We couldn’t agree more. Here’s to the facilitators who make it all possible! 🥂💖
