This was a great way to end the season. The Rotary group were our last visitors for 2026. The mill museum and gift shop are now closed until next Easter but Dusty Miller's tearoom is open during the winter months.

The sun is lower in the sky, the days are getting shorter and the spiders' webs glisten in the morning dew........ and so this is the last day of the mill and shop being open to the public until next Easter.

An interesting donation in our piggy bank today.
The £1 coin is for scale.
Currently a Russian ruble is worth £0.00889 pounds .
100 kopecks in a ruble.
This means this little kopeck is worth .0089p .
Judging by the date it's been sitting amongst the fluff in someone 's pocket or wallet for a while unless it was still in circulation until recently.

Important announcement!!!

Having been bombarded with messages today I want to post to let everyone know the cafe is not closing!!

I absolutely love Dusty Millers!.. it’s in an amazing setting at the watermill and I’m blessed with very good landlords.. I’m very proud of the cafe and it’s going nowhere.

I do have other ventures I’m pursuing but it does not affect Dustys!.. (I just need to juggle my time more carefully 🤣)

Thank you Karen. Karen and her husband stayed in Lile Cottage last month . A few days ago this little hand knitted pig arrived in the post as a thank you for an enjoyable visit. Such a lovely surprise and obviously made with love by Karen herself.
