Could you please advertise our next meeting to your members. Many thanks

The next demo for Cirencester Art Society will be on Tuesday 5th May with Mark Peskett a local Wiltshire artist. His approach is fairly classical using w/c or pen and wash– he has travelled quite extensively and focuses on landscapes, town views and everyday places. His paintings are quite loose and he stresses that for him accuracy isn’t that important- it’s more about tone and value.
Please join us at Baptist Church, Chesterton Lane, Cirencester GL7 1YE at 7pm. Members £2, non members £5. All welcome.

A great opportunity to try something different - all day workshop on Saturday 18th April
April Fresh: Cirencester Art Society Workshop with Tim Baynes
The objective of the workshop is for each of us to come away with a piece of work using materials and ideas we will be exploring across the day.
We will draw and paint and there will be the opportunity to explore print making on a limited scale.
This day session builds on the ideas we explored at Cirencester Art Society evening session on February 3rd. Although if you did not come to that session 😊 you will not be at any disadvantage
We will take the landscape as our focus however equally we can apply ourselves to still life.
Across the workshop there will be distinctive sessions:
1. Using sketching and drawing to work through an idea for a picture
2. Painting using any medium we like – this will be the main focus of the day
3. Printmaking. Taking a drawing or painting and scaling it down to work as a monoprint.
Opportunity to sign up on Tuesday 7th or please ring Heather on 07986824533
If you would like to talk to Tim beforehand, perhaps to explore an idea or there is a particular question you like an answer to, he is on 07870 221317 or [email protected]. Do give him a call. He’d love to hear from you.
