Cirencester Art Society welcomes Kirsty Hartsiotis, an experienced art historian and speaker who will give an illustrated talk about Gloucestershire’s C20th artists who were inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement in the Cotswolds. This talk explores their interpretations of the landscapes around them and the ideals that led them to settle or stay here.Do join us at Baptist Church, Chesterton Lane, Cirencester GL7 1YE at 7pm. Dear Members,

Time to get ready for the Summer Exhibition over the Summer Bank Holiday 29th August to 31st August. The entry forms for both the exhibition and competition will be available on the website shortly with the date for submission being 10th August for both.
The Competition painting can be in any media and any size but must be on the theme of 'Summertime' please. We hope to be able to invite a celebrity to judge and award prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
All instructions and information with regard to requirements will be the same as in previous exhibitions including fees. The Competition piece will require a £5 entry fee.
Cards can be sold as before.
There will be a Preview to celebrate our 50 Years Anniversary on the evening of 28th August. More details to come!
Dont forget the last demo of the summer on Wednesday 1st July at St Michaels Hall 7.30pm with Clare Walsh on the Art of Sublimation! Sounds interesting!

An opportunity to try something quite different

Steve Woodhams joined Us at Cirencester Art Society at our Tuesday demo to show the many techniques he uses for his own unique style of abstract and new form of cubist art. Do see his website at https://www.stevewoodhamsart.com
He has kindly agreed to hold a workshop on Saturday 20th June. He assured us that this will be should be an exciting and fun opportunity for everyone, from complete beginners to the more experienced, to create your own cubist /abstract masterpiece.

The final demo for Cirencester Art Society before our summer break will be on Tuesday July7th with Catherine Beal, an award-winning artist from Bath. She specialises in wet-in-wet watercolours and keeps them fresh and mobile with her “gravity painting” techniques. Join us at Baptist Church, Chesterton Lane, Cirencester GL7 1YE at 7pm.
