Caroline from Slindon Cinema is after 2 Classic Minis for a showing of the 1969 classic 'The Italian Job' She writes:

'The Italian Job film starring Michael Caine and Noel Coward is a heist caper, set in Turin, where the bank job takes place, followed by an epic car chase through the city centre.

We like embellishing our screenings sometimes to bring the film alive, something I have done for many years at my precious club : Worthing Film Club.

Here is a film sheet in the details of the minis used in the film. It would be good to have the owners on hand to talk about their cars too.

Ideally if we can we would like to have two minis flanking the entrance to the cinema, which us housed in the village hall.

As we are a volunteer run, not-for-profit group, we can offer free tickets to watch the film. This will be screened in 35mm Technicolor, no digital films for us!

Film will start at 7. But it would be good to I vote folks to arrive earlier to have pizza and view the cars, and we are trying to add some more elements to the event too, to give on hand."

SADCASE Drive it Day 2025- The annual 'Drive-IT' day will start from the Storrington library car park. No tickets this year. Just turn up on Sunday April 27th at 8.45am with route to follow. Many thanks to Porsche 911 Owner Graham Kerr who has put together a really interesting route. Cars will leave from 9.00am.

As promised some dates for your diary for 2025:

1. Pagham Beach Cafe Meet will be back twice in 2025. A tentative date of Sunday 6th April is likely with confirmation for that and the October date to follow in due course.

2.The annual SADCASE Car show will be held at the Amberley Museum on June 22nd. Tickets will be available in late April. As usual the Museum will be totally open with a Steam train and a vintage bus or coach available.

3.The SADCASE Storrington Classic Car Show is provisionally booked on bank holiday weekend on the Sunday August 24th. There are some issues outstanding however, including a large Public Liability Insurance charge for the day that the Parish Council are unable to include in their insurance policy. There are other big expenses to cover but we will manage somehow! Members do not need to purchase tickets for this beforehand but can enter the show on the day free of charge We would ask for a donation of £5 upon arrival to cover costs and to hopefully produce a profit of which 100% will be given to the Mary How Charity. Although this event will not be ticketed, there is obviously a limit to the amount of cars which will be able to attend so we would point out that once the venue is full we will not be able to admit any other cars. So arrive as early as possible. There will be motorabilia stalls, a beer tent and catering vans organised. It should be a good day.


Other Events: There will be a Club presence at other events including the Bromley Pageant at Ardingly in July and at Cranleigh in August. There will also be a few drive outs to the Goodwood Motor Racing circuit and other locations.

Wishing all our members a very happy 2025 and safe and satisfying motoring 👍👌 On this windy and wet morning let's brighten our spirits by remembering the Storrington vehicle show from a few years ago 👍 Events for 2025 are in the planning stage so we will keep you updated as things progress.

Saturday 9th November Goodwood Track Day and Spur Monthly Meeting.

The first is the Goodwood Track Day. This is a free of charge event where we can meet and view the cars on track sometimes at all sorts of angles battling around this incredibly fast circuit. For those interested we will be meeting at the Storrington car park at 9.00am leaving at around 9.15am. We will travel as usual at the pace of the slowest car so do not mind if you quick guys overtake us on the fast road from the Fontwell Horse racing course. We will meet at the Motor Circuit Cafe car park before walking under the track to good vantage points where we can see the action. The Motor Circuit Cafe may be closed but there is always places where you can find a breakfast bacon bap, burger and something to drink. A good place to watch the action is above the pits. See you there!

The monthly meeting at The Spur from 11.00am. A few of us no doubt will make a long morning of it and travel from Goodwood to meet fellow members maybe a little later on from the normal time of 11.00am. It was so nice to see a wide collection of classic cars at the last Spur meeting but remember it is the members that are more important so if you are reluctant to waken your treasured car/bike from its cozy garage then nip over in your everyday car. We will understand!
