Ever wondered how the iconic Jasper figures are made?

The process begins with scraping clay into a mould before using a traditional ‘knocker’ to ensure every intricate detail is captured.

Excess clay is removed, and a specialised tool known as a ‘waggler’ is used to delicately release the figure from the mould.

Once formed, each piece is kept "damp-hard" before moving to ornamenting, where the talented team hand-apply the decorative elements.

Every figure is carefully positioned and attached with precision, preserving the remarkable detail that makes Jasperware so distinctive.

From the first mould to the final firing, every stage is a testament to the craftsmanship that has defined Wedgwood for generations.
