Sonya Wilkins: Colours of Our Country

Sonya is a ceramicist whose work is entertained with nature not only in subject matter, but in material and artistic conviction. Sonya studies her subject closely. For Colours of Our Country, this included birch trees across Scotland, namely the Wild Cherry Trees found in the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. She combines foraged clays with commercial clays and forms her studio practice in an ecologically conscious manner, always respectful of the source for her inspiration. The true beauty of these trees are elegantly composed in these vessels, and we are so pleased to be featuring Sonya’s work alongside our five brilliant painters of Colours of Our Country.

Join us to see Sonya’s work ( ) in Colours of Our Country, running from 19th June - 18th July, with a Private View on the 18th June 6pm - 8pm.

Lynn McGregor: Colours of Our Country

Lynn is inspired by the Scottish great outdoors and views of hills stained with sunlight. She considers herself an intuitive painter. Lynn approaches the work through memory, using the impressions that these views had on her to express her artistic vision. The result are fantastic semi-abstract landscape paintings that are evocative of hills and lochs without being overly representational. We are so pleased to be adding Lynn to our collection of represented artists for this exhibition.

Join us to see Lynn’s work (Lynn McGregor RSW) in Colours of Our Country, running from 19th June - 18th July, with a Private View on the 18th June 6pm - 8pm.

Madeleine Gardiner: Colours of Our Country

Madeleine paints the Scottish landscape in a way that engages all the senses, allowing us to feel the environments that she paints. From seascapes to sprawling glens, she portrays these views in a moody, elemental manner, capturing the quality of light as it merges with mist to blur the lines of the surrounding landscape.

Join us to see Madeleine’s work ( ) in Colours of Our Country, running from 19th June - 18th July, with a Private View on the 18th June 6pm - 8pm.

Tamara Williams: Colours of Our Country

Based in North Surrey, Tamara’s countryside landscapes grasp simplicity and abstraction to portray so successfully the views from our country that we know and love. Using patterns and colours in her compositions, Tamara’s background in graphic design bolsters her skills in this arena. This is the first collection of work we have exhibited by Tamara at Graystone, and we cannot be more thrilled.

Join us to see Tamara’s work () in Colours of Our Country, running from 19th June - 18th July, with a Private View on the 18th June 6pm - 8pm.

Connie Liebschner: Colours of Our Country

Connie is one of five painters exhibiting with us in our upcoming exhibition focused on the Scottish Landscape and its changeability with light, season, and perspective. Connie masterfully captures the essence of this theme. She zeros in on the spaces where land meets water and expresses the feeling of enormity in these encounters. Inspired by lots of time spent wild swimming, Connie’s connection with the Scottish landscape is felt in every brushstroke she paints. She observes shadows cast on the landscape and the contrasts found in lochs, waterfalls and rivers and paints awe-inspiring views of Scotland.

Join us to see Connie’s work () in Colours of Our Country, running from 19th June - 18th July, with a Private View on the 18th June 6pm - 8pm.
