Anthony Padgett is a âpost contemporaryâ artist, dance teacher, event planner, art project manager. A variety of forms - painting, sculpture, performance, dance, text and publishing. A variety of styles - representational, abstract, found objects, printed text, performance. A variety of materials - oil on canvas, stone, bronze, paper, the body, concepts. Themes include Art Categorisation Systems, Artist Unionisation, Computer Manufacturing, Swing dance & Rock n Roll.

A thin skin of dead, flat gouache wash settles into the paperâs surface. The colour of misty morning Welsh sea is held with pencil and ink as an illusion of order.An abstract thought is made visible.

For our annual exchange programme, we are very happy to be working with The Birley, an artist-led studios & project space in Preston city centre, Lancashire, UK. GLOAM is delighted to share the work of 11 studio holders from The Birley in the first half of this yearâs exchange.
GLOAMâs exchange programme is a chance to grow a network of artist-led spaces regionally and nationally to nurture a supportive and enthusiastic community. Past exchanges have included free house (Birmingham), Two Queens Two Queens, Leicester (Leicester) and General Practice general-practice.net (Lincoln).
