Just another reason to be excited for our upcoming Annual Diesel Gala...the fourth and final guest loco completing the lineup is Class 37 No. 37250 courtesy of Vince Minto and The Wensleydale Railway. 🛤️
No. 37250 will be joining the previously announced Class 35 ‘Hymek’ No. D7017, BR Class 14 D9553, and Class 20 No. 20166 for four action-packed days from 11th-14th June 2026. 🎉
Class 37 No. 37250 was built in 1964 at the English Electric Vulcan Foundry, this preserved BR Class 37 was originally allocated to Cardiff Canton. Over time it has had several liveries, including Dutch and Civil Engineers. In November 2003, the locomotive was allocated to work in France on building the new high-speed lines, before being bought into preservation in 2008 by its current owner. Following its move to the Eden Valley Railway, it made its way to Wensleydale Railway in 2011 where its restoration began.
Ticket prices for the Annual Diesel Gala remain the same as last year. For a single day ticket; Adult £45, Child £12.50, for two days Adult £75, Child £17.50, three days Adult £100, Child £22.50, four days Adult £120, Child £27.50. A 10% Donation Fare is available with a 15% voucher for use in shops and tea rooms. Member prices are also available.
