At long last.... I finished this one. It has taken a while but it's all worth the time to finish. It's pretty big. My art room picture really shows it off beautifully. It looks more stunning for real. Photos don't do my work any justice. I am chuffed with the results.
It's called "At the edge of the forest"
This one is pretty big. I hope I managed to felt it.

This is a gorgeous little range of small pictures that I am making especially for my Gallery sales at Clootie McToot Dumplings . They are a lovely size, a great price and make perfect presents or you can be really clever and buy 4 and put them on the wall all together, because they all match each other. Some of them have cute little sheep π . These will be available from next Wednesday. Go on I dare you to go and have a look π
Enchanted Forest, Glendoick Perthshire. π
Just finished this one. I don't have a name for it yet. It will be available for sale at Clootie McToot Dumplings Abernethy from Thursday. This seascape is inspired from the east coast Scottish beaches, more up the Carnoustie side. I love those old rickety fences hidden amongst the dunes and the abundance of wild beach flowers.
Purple Sky.... Durness, Scotland. The inspiration behind this painting - On a holiday last year in Durness β¨ we got up really early to see the sunrise. It was one of the most spectacular sunrises that I have ever seen. The sky was aglow with purples and pinks. I couldn't help but think on how it would look up in the hills with little highland crofts. So here it is. π this will be available for sale at the Clootie McToot Dumplings Abernethy from this Thursday.
Moon Glow, Perthshire. This will be available for sale at the Clootie McToot Dumplings Abernethy - from the 12th October.

My latest piece, from one of my Glen Tilt walks. I still haven't named it yet. Any ideas? πππ§‘
Lots of research goes into my felted paintings and yesterday was a perfect day to go out into the woods with my camera. Photography plays a big part in my designs. Taking myself into nature, to capture my surroundings. Woodland smells so different in the autumn π and even tastes different. So - to visualise the smell, taste, textures and colours, can really make a difference to my work. I'm not that great when it comes to recreating trees in felt so studying their shape and form is essential for me. I now have these images to work with .... I wonder how it will look ππ
" The road to Carn Liath" Glen Tilt, Blair Atholl, Perthshire.
Inspiration -
One of my most loved walks, up and around the open hills and twisting pathways of Glen Tilt. Big open skies with dramatic mountains. Sheep just pop up out of nowhere. The beauty of this place is recreated in many of my paintings.
Today's make.... this stunning felted flower to add a finishing touch to a felt bag that I am making. I am waiting for the bag to dry so hopefully I can show you the full result later π
Books .... Glorious Books ππ
Beautiful hand felted book covers on Seawhite of Brighton sketch books. They come in two sizes. They make lovely gifts. I make them in any colours that you want. PM me if you want to find out more.
Another fabulous work of art. Morar, West Coast of Scotland.
Inspiration -
I have so many wonderful memories of Morar especially when my children were young. It's been a long time since I last visited and I remember the white cottage/croft set amongst the hills. I don't know if it still exists. Many old buildings have been knocked down and new builds in their place.
If you're a seascape lover and fancy it on your wall ...
33cm by 64cm Β£200
This has to be my absolute best so far. I must admit, it really is stunning. It's a big picture 62cm long by 32cm wide, so quite long. It comes in a white box frame unmounted so that you get the full extent of the Painting. Late Summer Sky, Bridge of Tilt, Blair Atholl.
Inspiration - venturing through the mountains and valleys, when the heather is just starting to turn and the purple and orange hues from the sky bounce the light making the heather almost turn the valley into deep peaty browns. The meadow flowers still capture the light not wanting to let go of summer. It's ready to buy and costs Β£265. PM me if you are interested. Thank you ππ§‘π
Working on a seascape just now β΅πβ΅
I have been asked many times if it's possible to frame a piece of felt work before the wet felt process and needle feIting is not the look you want. I often put posts up of my pictures before they have been wet felted and I get so many requests for the pictures to be framed as is. To be honest my favourite part and look of any of my paintings is the felting process and the finished piece with beautiful machine and hand embroidery. However at long last an experiment that so far seems to be working. Here is one that I have been working on and I have managed to frame with glass on. I will give it a couple of days to see how it stays and then take it from there. Personally I think it looks squashed and flat with no depth. I'm not sure if this is the way forward for my work but nice to give it a try. π

One of my favourite places to capture photos for my work is Blair Atholl, Perthshire. This summer I decided to climb a few mountains and take my work to another level. I call this little Bothy " the lunch stop Bothy" it's real name is Allt Scheicheachan Bothy and it's a great stop if you are ever to climb Beinn Dearg. Before I turn a photo into a felted painting I draw it out and add vibrancy to it. The felted piece is drying and once ready I will then put it through my sewing machine and make the picture really come alive. I look forward to showing you the end result.
