Step back in time at the Newport Medieval Ship summer fayre!

Enjoy a day packed with history, hands-on fun and family-friendly activities.

From craft workshops and demonstrations to family activities, there will be lots to see and do throughout the day.

Refreshments will be on sale, and visitors can also take a look around the ship centre to learn more about the history of what has been described as the world’s largest 3D jigsaw puzzle.

Best of all, it’s FREE to enter!

Whether you’re visiting with family or just curious about Newport’s remarkable medieval past, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The Newport Medieval Ship warehouse is open every Friday and Saturday from 10:30am–4pm, offering the chance to get up close to one of the most important surviving medieval ships in Europe and discover the remarkable story of Newport's maritime past.

And don't forget our annual Medieval Summer Fayre on Saturday 25 July (10am–4pm)! Enjoy sea shanties, live musical performances, family activities, hands-on demonstrations, crafts, tours and plenty to see and do throughout the day – with FREE entry.

The Newport Medieval Ship is a fifteenth century merchant vessel unearthed in the heart of Newport in 2002. Work on the Riverfront arts centre was paused while excavations could take place, and the timbers have since been undergoing a lengthy conservation process so the ship can be displayed to the
