This week, our Learning and Aspiration Team had the pleasure of working with Oddsocks to deliver a workshop based on A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Crescent Primary School.

Year 5 and 6 pupils stepped into the role of theatre directors, helping to shape and direct scenes from Shakespeare’s much-loved play. Alongside exploring performance techniques, they also learned about the different elements that bring a production to life and discovered more about the life and legacy of William Shakespeare.

It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm, creativity and confidence from the pupils as they engaged with the world of theatre and storytelling. Thank you to Crescent Primary School for welcoming us – we look forward to returning soon!

🎨 Artist Spotlight: Sharon Marriott

Mansfield Woodhouse artist Sharon Marriott is a self-taught intuitive painter whose work is guided by instinct, emotion, and personal reflection. Having started painting just a year ago, she quickly discovered a passion for creating expressive acrylic artworks that evolve naturally throughout the creative process.

Inspired by spirituality, wellbeing, and lived experience, Sharon's paintings encourage moments of reflection and connection, inviting viewers to discover their own meanings within the work.

We're delighted to feature Sharon's artwork in our Open Art Exhibition, on display until 27 June.

Looking for something fun, creative, and confidence-building this summer?

Our Summer School is back at the Palace Theatre!

Inspired by the magic of musicals, this week is perfect for children who love to sing, dance, act, or simply would like to try something new.

Throughout the week, young performers will explore the world of a true triple threat. Led by friendly industry professionals, sessions include West End inspired choreography, vocal training and acting sessions with a qualified LAMDA drama teacher. The week will be filled with engaging activities designed to build skills and confidence.

No experience is needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. Whether your child already loves musicals or is discovering them for the first time, they’ll be supported every step of the way while making new friends and learning new skills.

By the end of the week, they’ll have grown in confidence, creativity, and self-expression. All while enjoying the excitement and storytelling of musical theatre.

Spaces are limited, so secure your child’s place today and give them a summer filled with music, movement, and fun!
