Opera Gallery is thrilled to announce that ‘Pierre Dunoyer: Object of Thought: Tableaux 1986–2008’ is NOW OPEN at our Dubai DIFC gallery.

Pierre Dunoyer’s art presents a captivating paradox: minimalist yet baroque, conceptual yet decorative. Each piece invites quiet contemplation, revealing a distinctive world. The artist describes his creations as “tableau-objects” or “thought-paintings,” each with a serene presence that simply exists. Director’s Insight Series: Stéphane Le Pelletier, Opera Gallery Singapore

Join us as Opera Gallery Directors answer a thought-provoking question:

‘What was the most difficult artwork for you to part with, and why?’

The most difficult artwork to part with was a painting by Francis Bacon. In fact Bacon is my favourite artist, and I was totally captivated by this work that we had in the Singapore gallery many years ago. I remember spending some time each day admiring this painting and trying to understand how such a traumatic expression could generate so much peace and calm while looking at it.

Artwork: Francis Bacon, Study for Portrait (looking Right and Left), 1961, oil on canvas, 35.6 x 61 cm | 14 x 24 in
