Kazuhiro KATASE
‘sence of renewal’

17 June ▶︎ 19 July 2026
at Gallery Eclectic

Meet the artist: 17,19,20 June

-
We are pleased to announce that Kazuhiro Katase’s solo exhibition, sense of renewal, will be held at Gallery Eclectic from 17 June to 19 July 2026.

This exhibition features many standing forms.
Katase continues to explore his distinctive style through a playful process of discovery, combining wheel-throwing with hand-building, integrating hand-building with molds, experimenting with reverse approaches to brushwork, and even adding color to the stones naturally mixed into the clay before incorporating them back into the material.

We are especially excited to present a wide selection of Katase’s beloved mugs and cups, which are always met with great enthusiasm and often find new homes soon after arriving at the gallery.

Yumiko Iihoshi
Yumiko Iihoshi makes two series of porcelain works.
In ‘Hand Works’ she uses the potter’s wheel herself.
In ‘Products’ she asks pottery makers from each region of Japan to follow faithfully her precise instructions for the shape and colour of the pieces. She attaches a great importance in creating her own mould and glaze recipe. The result is a product that retains the essence of craft work.

Nerikomi is a meticulous process of layering colored clay, creating patterns that are embedded within the form, not just on the surface.

Although Mayumi Shimizu is best known for her sake vessels, we are pleased to present a matcha bowl on this occasion.
We invite you to experience her world on a larger canvas.
This piece is truly radiant.
