A small selection of my favourites including Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson, Bridget Riley, Howard Hodgkin, Paul Nash, Christopher Wood and Liubov Popova.

Monsoon: The Peter Simon Collection is on view at Christie's until 14th October, with an Evening Sale on the 14th followed by the Day Sale on the 15th.

A lovely dedication by Terry Frost in a 2000 catalogue published by the Belgrave Gallery. It's one of the catalogues we're bringing to the British Art Fair, where we will be showing a 1970s canvas by Frost.

We'll also exhibit works by other Cornwall-based Modern British artists including Alexander MacKenzie, Denis Mitchell, George Dannatt and Roy Conn.

At British Art Fair, we're excited to showcase abstract works by 20th-century British artists. As part of our presentation, we're bringing attention to some lesser-known artists who were engaged with the important developments in post-war British art.

Roy Conn (1931-2018) was an abstract artist working in St Ives. Conn's main body of work consists of geometric abstract paintings. His early works from the 1950s are austere in their geometry and sparing in color, sometimes incorporating elements of collage with old newspaper in works on paper. His style is distinctive and in keeping with the atmosphere of St Ives in the 1950s and 1960s. His later works are much larger in scale and use more pure and bright colors. Conn had solo shows at the Rowan Gallery in 1966 and at the Arnolfini Gallery in Bristol in 1969. Conn also participated in group exhibitions at the Belgrave Gallery, Tate, New Vision Centre, and the Penwith Gallery.
