☕️ Love a bit of history with your cuppa?

Tea didn’t become common in England until the mid‑1600s, but the family at Temple Newsam were already ahead of the trend. Proper northern trailblazers, sipping this luxury drink long before it became a staple in homes across the country.

And tea wasn’t the only treat. The house’s fancy teapot collection shows just how much flair went into serving a brew - if you poured tea with style, you were really showing off.

❗️Please take note: we’ve been made aware of a Halloween ‘scarefest’ event being advertised called ‘Temple Newsam After Dark’ on an external website. No such event is taking place, so please do not book tickets.

SUMMER HOLIDAYS ARE STILL IN FULL BLOOM 🪷

Come and create some memories with us before the kids go back to school.

Step inside the house for giant paper flowers, colourful corners, and crafty bits that kids dive into to make crowns, boppers and mini versions of Andy Singleton's epic sculpture. There's also costumes to dress up in and loads to spot and learn as you go.

Tomorrow’s Tuesday, which means children go FREE in the house with a paying adult, so it’s a great day to pop in.

Then head over to Home Farm for rare breeds, learning and adventure play or hit the Play Barn with little ones for a proper run-around.

Only a few weeks left - come explore, create and enjoy some cute animal therapy🐖

It's been fantastic to see so many young riders and families enjoying the Golf and Activity Park since it opened in June ✨

The park was specifically designed to allow young children to build their confidence and develop their skills riding a bike or a scooter. To help us keep the space safe and enjoyable for our younger guests, we kindly ask visitors to not ride electric scooters or adult bikes in the park 🚲

Thank you to everyone who has visited and helped make the park such a success!

The Food Festival is taking place this weekend, 15 and 16 August, but there's still plenty to enjoy across the estate 🌳

We're open as usual, so pop into the House, meet the animals at Home Farm, let the little ones burn off some energy in the Play Barn, or simply explore the beautiful grounds and gardens 🌷
