Part of an arts collective? Care about the environment? Stand up for Social Justice and environmental responsibility? Want to share something you really love? As part of our forthcoming exhibition, 'It Takes a Community, we invite you to share your stickers and pins and help us create a space to showcase what is important for the people of Leeds. Join our community, old and new and be a part of our Community Wall.

Cool down in our air-con Summer Zone exhibition for families. There's colouring sheets, art easels, a mini puppet theatre, games to play and books to share. It's a good place to cool down if you're exploring the Trivial Pursuit Leeds trail too. Or pick up one of our free family trails to do around the museum. Exhibition open Tues-Sun until the end of August. Free or give a small donation

📢 CALL OUT FOR DONATIONS
Leeds Museums and Galleries is celebrating 20 years working with communities across Leeds with our upcoming exhibition at Leeds City Museum, It Takes A Community. We're looking for individuals and groups to share their stories and passions in the form of zines! We invite you to share zines of all formats, showcasing illustration, poetry, photography, and printmaking. Afterwards, they will continue their life at Leeds Zine Library - the only open access zine library in the country!

To submit your zines, please drop them off at Leeds City Museum or contact our community curator: [email protected]

🔮 Our pop-up Sensory Room is back! This event is for families with SEND, neurodiversity, autism and/or anxiety, who might find a visit to the museum overwhelming.

⛺ Enjoy our sensory room with dark tents, light-up toys, squishy floor tiles, dens and a bubble tube.

⏰ Wednesday 12 August, 10.30am & 1pm

🎟 Booking required via our website. Please book a ticket per child - accompanying adults don’t need a ticket. You can come and go from the room as you need to, and there’ll be no need to queue.

🎭 Puppet theatre: Dame Judy & Mr Punchinello! This fun, family-friendly theatre show is coming to the museum next week, Tuesday 11 August.

It's the classic story that you know and love, but this time, Judy has had enough! She's taken over the show, the booth, everything! More importantly she's given Mr Punch the heave-ho and replaced him with his catastrophically chaotic distant cousin Mr Punchinello. Was that the way to do it?? You can be the judge.

There's all the usual suspects plus an updated, family friendly twist, brought to you by Leeds' very own Grandly Strange Puppet Theatre.

⏰The show runs at 11am, 1pm and 2pm in the special exhibition space. Run time is approximately 30 minutes.
💺Drop in – limited chair seating available.
⚠️**Please note: While we’ll do our best to accommodate everyone, we may have to limit audience numbers if it’s extra popular!

Drop into our third‑floor craft area this week (Tuesday - Thursday) and invent your very own board game, puzzle or recycled‑material masterpiece. Cardboard hoopla? A twist on snakes and ladders? Something totally wild? It’s all up to your imagination.
