Knutsford Heritage Centre Knutsford Heritage Centre is set in the heart of Knutsford in a reconstructed 17th century timber fr The centre is open throughout the year.

Knutsford Heritage Centre is housed in a reconstructed 17th century timber framed building previously known as Musgrave’s Yard. Evidence of its previous existence as a tinsmith, ironmonger and brazier is clear, with a forge, anvil and an original set of bellows now preserved and all on display. Once no longer viable as an ironmonger’s, the site had sadly been left to ruin over the years but in 1988, The Groundwork Trust invested £100,000 to renovate and develop the area into what is now The Heritage Centre. Working as an independent charity, The Heritage Centre continues to grow and develop, always aiming to ‘protect, present and promote Knutsford’s rich and diverse heritage for the benefit of its residents and visitors.’

Admission to the Centre is FREE but we welcome donations.

'INNS AND ALEHOUSES OF OLD KNUTSFORD' - Book signing on Friday 16th at the heritage centre. 11.15 - 2.30 pm
Jenny's book will transport you back to a time when Knutsford had numerous inns and alehouses serving b**r and simple fare.
We'd love to offer you a pint but sadly licensing laws don't permit it!

The former White Lion pub in King Street is now split into a cafe and wedding venue.
It's one of the hostelries featured in this new book on Inns and Alehouses of Old Knutsford.
It wasn't the only 'Lion' in the town. Discover which have long disappeared. Where were they and what are their stories?
The book is only available through Knutsford Heritage Centre and all profits go to support this organisation.

I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak at the Bayeux Tapestry last week before the exhibition officially opened. Knutsford Heritage Centre is taking part in the Bayeux Around Britain programme so I was allowed to see it as part of this. But there was an embargo on me sharing anything until the official opening. It was amazing and a real privilege to be so close to something so beautiful and so old.
I also spent quite a lot in the shop!
If you can get tickets go and see it. But if not, come and see a digital version as well as the Knutsford Millennium Tapestry at the Heritage Centre. Terrific Tapestries is opening soon
