Impactful Art
This incredible sculpture, by Dean Kendrick of Richard Cooper Studios, of two diving, swimming otters, chasing a rainbow trout is a real centrepiece.
At 70cm tall base to tail tip and 60cm diameter it makes a powerful statement of nature’s beauty.
One of only nine made, this is the bronze sculpture to sit on a hall or dining table to welcome your guests this Christmas and bring joy forever. A true heirloom piece.

Tiny Treasures make Thoughtful Gifts!
I have just picked the very last of tomatoes from my little greenhouse. I didn’t grow much this year, but tomatoes were the essentials. The smell of the leaves, the squish of the fruit eaten straight from the plant, the pinching out and watching them grow from tiny seeds to luscious plump plants covered in fruit is a wonderful thing. And for me it reminds me of my dear Grandad who had tomato plants on every windowsill of their little Skipton terraced house. And I feel a rush of love.
This is the great impact of tiny art treasures.
This series of cheering paintings by Ali Mackie are each 33x33cm and will bring love and colour to any home….kitchen? Garden room? You decide.

Impactful art does not mean size…it’s more about meaning to you.
We are delighted to have this incredible new painting in from June Bell.
“Song of the Nightingale” is painted in oils, with collage elements and finished with beeswax. It’s layered with story and meaning and at around 54 x 94cm would make a beautiful feature in any home.

Come into the cosy embrace of Saltbox Gallery. Now the nip in the air has brought us more inward, our front door is “put-to”, rather than pinned open, gentle heating on and the gallery rearranged for the cosy season of changing colours.
Come find new colour and expression for your home.

TINY TREASURES FOR SMALL SPACES!

While large paintings create impact, small artworks create an entirely different magic. They invite you in, ask you to step closer, pause, engage with the tiny details. You notice the subtle news of texture and mark, the gentle depth of colour.
We have a gorgeous and varied collection of tiny art, such as these miniature paintings by Lindsey Tyson. Each measures just 10x10cm. Beautiful individually and they also make gorgeous little groups. Perfect for little nooks, sitting on shelves, tucked into existing vignettes. They feel like intimate works, personal secrets , like little jewels.

ARTWORKS FOR IMPACT!
Small art decorates a space, large art DEFINES it.
Don’t be afraid of big artwork in small, spaces. It actually makes a room feel bigger, not smaller!

Here is the incredible new painting in from Scotlands Jemma Derbyshire “Standing Still, Still Standing”, full of life, expression and layers of mark and colour. It is an impressive 150cm wide by 120cm high.

Large work like this bring impact, tactile warmth from the layers of marks and paint, and really set the emotional tone of a home the moment you walk in. It is an instant focal point…true impact.

As we edge gently towards the winter, through this beautiful autumn, many of us are starting to look for gift ideas.
We offer you an ever changing collection of fine, hardwood boxes by Jonathon Vaiksaar.
Jonathon is a master craftsman making luxury boxes. Each box is made using native timbers such as English oak Scottish elm and Welsh ash. From trinket pocket boxes for your hall table, to watch, jewellery and desk boxes for your treasures, there's a special piece waiting for you.

Ruth Elizabeth Jones creates the most sensuous, tactile ceramics. Hand thrown in a variety of different clays and smoked fired.... They even smell amazing!
Of her process Ruth says "Bisque fired pieces are placed in dustbins with wood shavings and saw dust. A small fire is lit on top. The bin is then left to smoulder overnight. Once
completely cool the work is revealed.

The smoke-fired effects are achieved by the oxidized and reduction atmospheres within the smouldering sawdust. "

So organic and, literally, earthy Ruth's ceramics are deeply satisfying. From these little nest vessels to a pink clay, Rie-inspired moon jar, we have a tempting little new collection for you!

Welcoming Georgie Gardiner to the Saltbox family of artists and makers!

Georgie creates distinctive bowls and vessels, hand thrown on her potters wheel. Each piece is unique. The decoration is cut from paper by hand and applied to the leather-hard clay before adding layers of colour. The paper is then peeled back to reveal the bold graphic motifs before firing. Pieces are sanded to create a smooth tactile finish.

We hope you love these elegant, crisp new additions to the gallery. Perfectly formed treasures for thoughtful gifts.
