ছোট্ট একটা অটো রিক্সা বাংলাদেশের পরিচয় বহন করে পর্তুগীজদের নিকট। লিজবনের ট্যুরিস্টরা তা ছড়ে প্রথমেই জিজ্ঞাস করে কোথাকার গাড়ি এইটা। এরপর ছড়ে বেড়ায় ৭টি টিলায়। খুব সুন্দর বট বট করে নিয়ে যায় টিলার চুড়ায়। এই এক্সপেরিয়েন্সটা হলো গত বছর লিজবন্ড যাবার পর।

We are deeply saddened to inform you that Dr M A Sayeed a famous Bangladeshi Paeditrician, working in King George Hospital in London passed away on Friday at about 4 00 pm in Royal London Hospital, London. Dr Syed was a very popular Physician and a community activist. He was a Honourary consul general of Bangladesh in Scotland in 2000. He did higher studies in Glasgow, Scotland. Before that he worked in Dhaka and Iran. He was also a VP of student union of Dhaka Medical College. He was about 68 during his death. He is the younger brother of renowned businessman Mr.M A Rouf JP. from Dundee.
Friends and family will miss him. Please pray for his departed soul. His body will be flown to Dhaka for burial very soon.

হায়রে ডাক দিয়াছেন দয়াল আমারের গায়ক এন্ড্রো কিশোরের চির বিদায়ে থিসল শাপলা পরিবার গভীরভাবে শোকাহত। তার বিদায়ে বাংলার সংস্কৃত জগত অনেক বড় ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ হল।

Eid-ul-Fitr is on either Friday or Saturday. Covid19 has very bad impact on our daily life. Can't get together for Prayer or social gathering. Our heart is thriving to meet friends and families, that what we do on each occasion. Unfortunately, year 2020 is not in favour of us. But if we think positive it will definitely be good for our future generation. Before we get upset if we consider our present to the future we should be smiling. So stay at home and bring smile for our future generation.

গতকাল এপার বাংলা এবং ওপার বাংলা মিলে এডিনবরা ইউনিভার্সিটি, জর্জ স্কয়ারের হলে কবি কাজী নজরুল ইসলামকে স্মরণ করা হয়। এডিনবরা ইউনিভার্সিটির সুমিত কুমার এবং বাংলা স্কট নিউজের সম্পাদক মিজানুর রহমানের অক্লান্ত প্রচেষ্টায় এই অনুষ্টানটি সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন করা হয়। স্থানীয় সংগঠন থিসল শাপলা, এডিনবরা ভেতো বাংগালী ছায়ানট (কলকাতা) এবং কমিউনিটি অনলাইন নিউজ পেপার এর পৃষ্ট পোষকতা করে। এত প্রধান অতিথি ছিলেন কলকাতার ছায়ানটের চেয়ার পার্সন সমৃতা মল্লিক। বিপুল পরিমান স্থানীয় কলাকুশলীদের অংশ গ্রহনে অনুষ্টানটি ছিল প্রান চাঞ্চল্যকর। পুরো হলটি ছিল দর্শকে ভরপুর। নেপিয়ার ইউনিভার্সিটির ভাসুদি ফ্রেইজার অনুষ্টানটি দর্শকের সাড়িতে বসে উপভোগ করেন। স্থানীয় কমিউনিটি নেতাদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ওয়ালী তছর উদ্দিন (ডঃ) এবং শাহনুর চৌধুরী ( মুক্তিযুদ্ধা) নাম উল্লেখযোগ্য।
