A fascinating historic house with Tudor origins and Victorian rooms, set in 35 acres of beautiful grounds, housing the amazing collections of the late Denys Eyre Bower - Japanes armour, swords and lacquerware

; Ancient Egyptian artefacts; Buddhist antiquities and Stuart & Jacobite art and artefacts. A fairytale wedding and hospitality venue, with a delightful Tea Room and well-stocked Gift Shop.

👑 WIN | A Royal Cream Tea for Four at Chiddingstone Castle 🫖

This Saturday, 13th June, we're celebrating two very special occasions in the most British way possible - with scones, clotted cream, jam, and a proper pot of tea in our rose garden.

We're marking The King's Official Birthday, Trooping the Colour and a deeply personal milestone for Britain: what would have been Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's 100th birthday.

To honour her memory, we're serving our cream tea on the very same china design used when Queen Elizabeth II sat down to tea with Paddington Bear - one of the most beloved moments in royal history.

And at 2pm, we'll be joining The Tea Group's National Tea Moment - raising a cup together to toast Her Majesty's centenary, as the nation pauses to remember.

🎁 The prize:
✨ Cream tea for four, served in our rose garden
✨ Traditional homemade scones with clotted cream & jam
✨ Pots of tea or coffee
✨ Served on the same china design as HM The Queen & Paddington's famous tea

This Sunday, Chiddingstone Castle is proud to be an official stop on the London to Brighton Classic Car Run! Come and admire a stunning collection of beautiful vintage vehicles as they arrive in the Castle grounds from 10am before continuing their journey in the early afternoon. 🏁

Make a full day of it with:

We’re making great progress on the assessment and repair planning for the Japanese Room ceiling 👷✨

Most of the collection has now been carefully moved into temporary storage, where every object is being closely checked and cared for. Along the way, we’ve uncovered some fascinating hidden details — including the vivid red lacquer inside several samurai face masks, only visible thanks to the careful dismantling of the armour displays. 🎎⚔️

Whilst the room remains closed we will continue sharing highlights from the Japanese collection during our regular object viewing sessions, where you can get up close to some remarkable pieces rarely seen in this way.
