Storytelling is an important part of the wonderful Sophie Crockett’s paintings. Narrative is the core driver of her work. Her imagery bypasses modern elements to focus on deep-seated tales and folklore.

It is with great sadness we say goodbye to Robin Bouttell who has passed away peacefully on the 23rd June. I have worked with Robin since 1992 since our days in the commercial art world. Robin is without doubt the most talented creative I have ever worked with, in the latter stage of his career he was known for is bronze sculptures, however Robin started his career as an illustrator and colourist for Marvel Comics, working on such titles as Transformers, Judge Dredd and many more. His work in advertising making 3d models paved the way for him to follow his true passion for wildlife in his beautiful bronze animals.

Robin was an exceptional artist, he worked in oils and enjoyed painting lifelike animals and scenes, he particularly loved painting his lighthearted cats and dogs in costume.
Apart from being a wonderfully versatile artist, Robin was a beautiful soul, full of love, mischief and a wicked sense of humour.

If you're lucky enough to own anything by Robin, give it a nod today and look after it as there will never be another artist as talented and individual as Robin Bouttell.

I must say a special thank you to his beloved partner Penny, together they came up with many creative ideas and as all artists know, having someone who believes in you 100% and has your back is half the battle.

I will miss the long phone calls and chats over a cup of tea with Robin and Penny discussing the next project, but Alex, Sophie and Emma will continue to work with Penny at Pinkfoot on Robin's behalf.

Goodbye Robin x
