For Walls & Love 2026 in Valence, Rémi Tournier ≡ transforms the unusual architecture of 151 rue Faventines into En attendant la mer. Among painted ceramics and domestic objects, a small boat appears far from where it belongs.

Walls&Love 2026 has brought a new series of murals to Valence, with Rémi Tournier, SOBEKCIS, Taquen and Sêma Lao each responding to the city in very different ways.

From a stranded “ocean liner” in Rue Faventines to the fishing history of Basse-Ville and the Rhône, this year’s works draw closely on architecture, memory and place, alongside a collaborative graffiti jam and temporary interventions across the city.

Oviedo’s walls are carrying stories again. 🎨🦎

For Parees Fest 2026, Maite Rosende, Greta von Richthofen and Mar Herrera have created three new murals rooted in the city’s artistic history, ecology and neighbourhood memory.

Rather than treating the wall as an empty canvas, Parees begins with research, local knowledge and artistic mediation, allowing each work to grow from the place in which it exists.

From Rosende’s reinterpretation of Eduardo Úrculo’s historic La Cometa, to von Richthofen’s monumental sacavera and Herrera’s recollection of Teatinos and the Feria de la Ascensión, this year’s edition offers a compelling example of what contextual muralism can become.

Banksy’s work is seen around the world. Banksy himself almost never is.

That is what makes this photograph so unusual.

Taken by photographer Ember, the image shows Banksy creating Judo in Borodyanka in 2022, on the wall of a building damaged during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The mural depicts a child throwing a much larger judoka to the ground. It was widely interpreted as a reference to Vladimir Putin and became associated with Ukrainian resistance.

In 2023, the image moved beyond the wall when it appeared on Ukraine’s FCK PTN! postage stamp.

Four years after Banksy painted it, the moment of its creation returned to Kyiv.

At the 2026 Yalta European Strategy Annual Meeting, Ember’s photograph of Banksy at work appeared on the main stage beneath the conference theme “Peace Through Strength NOW!”

From a damaged wall in Borodyanka, to a national postage stamp, to an international stage in Kyiv, Judo has taken on a life far beyond the moment it was created.
