May Half term - Free Book reading at Oxmarket Contemporary Thursday May 28th 2.00p[m to 3.30pm
We are delighted to be taking part in the National Year of Reading and Chichester’s Go All In campaign by inviting you to join us for a reading of ‘Mr Woolit Finds a Friend’ this May Half Term.
“Mr Woolit Finds a Friend" is an educational tale for children of all ages. Join Nicola and her woolly friend Mr Woolit on a delightful farm adventure filled with humour, joy and charming animal encounters. With beautiful illustrations and themes of empathy and kindness, this whimsical story if perfect for bedtime. It even includes a simple pattern to knit your own Mr Woolit for added fun!
In keeping with our mission to promote new and emerging artists, Mr Woolit is written by local author Hilary Charlesworth and illustrated by local illustrator Sally Marien.
Hilary who is a spinner and a weaver who exhibits and teaches textiles. Her character ‘Mr Woolit’ developed from her love of wool and its many creative possibilities. Hilary will be bringing her spinning wheel to the reading.
Sally studied Art and Pottery at Goldsmiths College, London and went on to teach in primary schools. After her three children, Sally worked as an artist and ceramist form her studio in West Sussex. Sally will be carry out the reading.
