Tomorrow is Digbeth First Friday! We're opening our new exhibition The Space Between: Video works on migration, belonging, and contemporary life

Bringing together works by Alicja Rogalska, Zula Rabikowska, Jana Shostak, Radu-Mihai Tanasă, Anna Knapp & Amir Jan, and Małgorzata Dawidek, the exhibition examines migration not as a singular narrative, but as a complex social, political, and deeply personal condition. Through video, the artists engage with questions of displacement, borders, identity, labour, language, visibility, and belonging, while reflecting on how migration is represented and understood within contemporary public discourse. Join us at Centrala from 6PM!

On 16th June we are joined by violin and viola player Agate Max. Inspired by shadow work exercises, Max’s music traces a parallel possibility in sound: music’s ability, whether in a church or a club, to give a brief glimpse of being plugged into something beyond your own ego. Support comes from Tout Bleu, Midge and Jocelyn Compton.

Geneva-based 4 piece Tout Bleu create haunting pieces that sit somewhere between drone and industrial music. In their utopian mission to re-enchant the world, Tout Bleu take their time in urgency, to, one by one, soothe the souls that will cross their path

Indie-folk artist Midge will be joined by Vato Klemera on keys and Amy Coates on bass, bringing a fusion of jazz and folk influences to her sound.

Jocelyn Compton is a soulful black female artist from South Africa, and is now a growing presence in the Midlands music scene. Influenced heavily by jazz poets and the gentle rhythms of Bossa Nova, her music is shaped by warm melodies and intricate guitar work.

Today, we came to the end of our current exhibition ‘Care & Defiance’, a collaboration between Centrala and LUNA .photobham - a photography group championing women and non-binary photographers in the Midlands and beyond.

A lovely visitor and poet Annie shares her thoughts about the exhibition and its theme of womanhood through its many facets.

A big thank you to everyone that visited, collaborated and assisted!
