Birchington Heritage Trust Birchington Heritage Trust aim to research, discover and record Birchington's 3,500 years of history. We're really excited to hear about all things Birchington.

The Birchington Heritage Trust was established in May 2002 and was granted Charity status in August 2003. Since then, we have established a small local museum and archive room at the Village Centre, where our lovely volunteers encourage visitors to call in and explore the treasures within. We are proud to hold and be able to share written information on almost every topic connected with Birchington, as well as offering copying and photo printing facilities. Please feel free to pop in, take a look around and if you have any Birchington stories to share, we would love to hear all about them. In the mean time, please start sharing any comments, your memories, photos, or stories with us via this page. Located in the Burley Gallery in Birchington Library, we are open normal library opening hours for viewing, with stewards on duty to assist with research facilities Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.

Thank you to everyone who came to see our ‘Heritage Week’ display. Our work continues to keep the story of Birchington alive. Our next talk is this coming Thursday 24th September at 7.30. At The Village Centre, Birchington. We are delighted that Hazel Basford, archivist at Quex Museum will be talking about the life and times of the founder. Namely, Percy Powell-Cotton.
Please join us if you can. Free for members of Birchington Heritage Trust and by donation from anyone wanting to come along. Doors open 7pm. Bar also open. Hope to see you there.

Complete anger at the vandalism of the hard work by Chris le Corney to recreate and enhance our station. In the past we have celebrated our connection with London and other parts of our Isle. Now it would appear that a small minority want to smash up a chance to be part of a close community.

Open this morning and again on Saturday. Don’t miss your chance in taking a look at some very special archives we have on show. Also have the opportunity to see some of Alfred Walkers old slideshow of our Village. Maybe collect a membership form and join The Heritage Trust this autumn.
