✨ BAS Open Studios ✨Join us 25–27 September!

30 years in the making

Bath Artists’ Studios celebrate their past as they shape their future. For three decades, this cherished hub has supported working artists and enriched the city’s creative life, offering studio space, community and inspiration to makers and visitors alike.

This September, we open our doors: a Private View on 25 September, 5.30–9.30pm, followed by an Open Studios weekend on 26–27 September, 11am–5pm.

Visitors can explore working studios, meet the artists, and see new work first-hand. As the studios look ahead to securing a permanent new home, this milestone year is a celebration of community, creativity, and what’s next.

Bath Artists’ Studios celebrate their past as they shape their future. For three decades, this cherished hub has supported working artists and enriched the city’s creative life, offering studio space, community and inspiration to makers and visitors alike.

Demi's work is focused on using art-research to build interactive sensory experiences via sound, performance, and performance that incorporates other living things. Join the Bath Patchwork Project '26 〰️ Every Friday at Bath Central Library

The Bath Patchwork Project '26, curated by Bath Artists' Studios in partnership with the American Museum & Gardens, invites you to help create a unique community artwork that will become a textile time capsule, capturing the stories, identities and connections of Bath at this moment in time.

Join us every Friday at Bath Central Library for FREE artist-led stitching workshops. No sewing experience is necessary, everyone is welcome. Come along to learn a new skill, meet new people, and enjoy a relaxed, creative space.

You'll design your own fabric patch, adding words, drawings or reflections that are meaningful to you before it is stitched into the growing community patchwork. All materials and guidance are provided, so you can simply turn up and get involved.

Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced stitcher, we'd love you to be part of this collaborative project.

We are delighted to announce Meryn Scammell .art (Creative Arts Practice, Bath Spa, 2026) has been awarded the residency at Bath Artists’s Studios in 2026/2027.

It was incredibly hard to make a choice. Each of our shortlisted candidates has such strong bodies of work and would benefit from the space and time of the residency, and we’d like to thank Daisy Mae Hill, Kate Crilly and Fleur Tanner for interviewing with us.

We loved the depth of exploration of processes and objects within Meryn’s textile work, her evident care and thought about story, history, materiality and use. We feel the autonomy of the studio space within a wider community of artists and makers would be of real benefit to her at this time, allowing Meryn to dig deep into tufting, weaving and dye research, building on her work begun at Bath Spa. Given BAS’s focus on education and wellbeing through art, we felt we could be of real use supporting Meryn in developing workshops out of her process-led practice.
