82nd Anniversary of D - Day
Remembering D-Day and the Battle of Normandy
The D-Day landings of 6 June 1944 was the largest seaborne invasion in history. Along with the associated airborne operations, it marked the beginning of the liberation of France and western Europe.
Ashby Museum joins with others around the country in paying tribute to all those brave men and women involved in the D-Day campaign eighty-two years ago.
We think particularly of those from North West Leicestershire and South Derbyshire who risked, and in some cases lost, their lives for a Better Tomorrow.
