Should We Avoid Palm Oil?

At a macro level, of course we should, we could certainly get by without it, but we are in the real world, fuelled by greed, at all levels, which sadly must be satisfied.

The answer then is the same as it is for many other climatic and environmental issues. We are where we are but let’s make sure things don’t get any worse, let’s preserve what we have and put pressure on companies, by ACTION, to call them to account.

"Much More Important Than That!" 🏆🔴

This piece celebrates two Liverpool FC legends, Bill Shankly and Jürgen Klopp, who transformed our club in unforgettable ways.

Shankly took over in 1959 when LFC was in the Second Division, revitalizing the club and leading us to league titles and our first FA Cup. He famously said, "Some people believe football is a matter of life and death... I can assure you it is much, much more important than that."

Klopp arrived in 2015, bringing passion, charisma, and success, including our long-awaited Premier League and Champions League victories. Although he's now left the club, his legacy will forever be etched in Anfield’s history.

Both managers shared a deep connection with the fans, built their teams on hard work and togetherness, and left legacies that transcend football. YNWA! ❤️

On this World Nature Conservation Day, we must reflect on our actions and their impact on our planet. Our piece, "Stop, Think, Act!", serves as a protest against the destruction of rainforests due to palm oil production and its devastating effect on orangutans and countless other species.

If we don't take serious, urgent action to address palm oil, deforestation, poaching, and hunting, wild orangutans and their precious habitats will vanish forever. These incredible beings share 97% of our DNA, experiencing emotions and suffering in ways so similar to us. When their homes are destroyed, they feel the pain, the danger, and the loss.

Imagine if someone burned down your house, cut off your food supply, killed your family, and stole your children. This is the daily reality for orangutans and other wildlife, driven by our consumer demands. This senseless destruction not only endangers them but also brings us closer to our own extinction.

Today, we urge you to take action. 🌱💪 Small steps, when multiplied by millions, create a tsunami of change. Support organisations, make informed purchases, and spread awareness. Together, we can protect our planet and its magnificent creatures.
