Museum acquisition and exhibition ✨

Lotte Westphael’s ceramic work, Purple Textile Syncope, has joined the permanent collection of Clay Museum of Ceramic Art Denmark, and is currently part of their exhibition, « What’s New - Recent Acquisitions » through April 11, 2027.

The inspiration behind the work expressed by the artist:

« My many walks at dusk have shown me these deep purple hues. It’s about transitions, the transformation from day to night. To let the eye search from the light and sink into the interior of this cylindrical vessel.
To let the mind rest in the deep purple color. Purple Textile Syncope is an example of going to the absolute limit with the porcelain. I have never worked this thin in a large piece like this. The firing has transformed the piece into a narrative of vivid fragility and of, not perfection, but being at the edge of the possible. »

Lotte Westphael’s ceramic work, Purple Textile Syncope, has joined the permanent collection of Clay Museum of Ceramic Art Denmark, and is currently part of their exhibition, « What’s New - Recent Acquisitions » through April 11, 2027.

Winner of the Boghossian Foundation Prize in 2025, the Homo Faber Prize in 2024, and the Grand Prize of the Cheongju International Craft Competition in 2023, Hyejeong Ko is today considered one of the leading Korean artists in the field of contemporary sculpture, and her works are notably held in the collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London UK, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, and Ulster Museum - National Museums NI, Belfast, UK.

Hyejeong Ko creates extraordinary silver sculptures inspired by the natural landscapes of her native Jeju Island. Dandelions, pebbles, sea urchins and the movement of water form her work, in which she seeks not so much to reproduce nature as to capture its inner dynamics, echoing the Taoist principle of Wu Wei — harmony with the natural flow of things.
