Carola Grahn’s new work ‘Joejkeledtie’ (Joik bird)(2026), inaugurated last month outside of the Gaaltije Sami Museum in Staare/Östersund, Sweden.⁠

This work in bronze is also a sound sculpture that features fourteen joik recordings from *Åarjelsaepmie* (the South Sámi region). The joiks are drawn from Karl Tirén’s music archive, which was designated a UNESCO Memory of the World in 2025.⁠

In their sprawling exhibition 'Stillleben mit Gemüse / Still Life with Vegetables', Elmgreen & Dragset direct and shift the viewer's gaze, bringing everyday, easily overlooked moments into focus, transforming them into poetic scenes imbued with both critique and humor. Through their thoughtful presentation, the artist duo raise pressing questions about social structures and behavioral patterns rooted in conventions and institutional routines in an accessible rather than didactic manner. They also explore how museums shape our perception of art history, subtly subverting traditional forms of presentation and experimenting with the rules of exhibition design.⁠

RECLINING LAMPPOST transforms an everyday object into an unexpected public encounter: a streetlamp appears to have collapsed into the asphalt, its pole becomes a speed bump across the parking lot. By merging functionality with disruption, the work invites a second look at the familiar—turning urban infrastructure into a playful, sculptural intervention. A subtle shift in perspective can change how we experience the spaces we move through every day.⁠
