A huge thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for the opening of Skin, Shape, Shelter by Nanna Riis Andersen & Daniela Bergschneider.

We are incredibly happy and grateful to have welcomed so many of you to celebrate the exhibition with us — what a wonderful way to open the season.

And congratulations to Nanna and Daniela! We are very proud of the exhibition you have created together, and of the beautiful dialogue that has emerged between your two practices.

Taking shape.

Skin, Shape, Shelter is slowly moving from studio to exhibition — onto the walls, across the gallery and into the space.

Installation is in full swing with Nanna Riis Andersen and Daniela Bergschneider, as paintings, sculptural works, materials and forms begin to meet and find their place in the gallery.

This is the part we love: boxes everywhere, works leaning against walls, measuring, moving, reconsidering — and, little by little, an exhibition begins to emerge.

We can’t wait to share the finished result with you this Friday.

Our summer started with a bang in Ibiza ☀️

Just before closing the gallery for the summer, we had the absolute pleasure of taking part in CAN Art Fair in Ibiza — and what a way to end the first half of the year. Great art, great people, new encounters, conversations and sales, and a lot of energy to take with us into the summer.

After a long and lovely summer break, we are now more than ready to get back to the gallery — and to kick off a new season.

From Wednesday, we’ll be back at Gasværksvej, busy installing our first exhibition of the season: Skin, Shape, Shelter, a duo exhibition by Nanna Riis Andersen and Daniela Bergschneider.

The exhibition opens Friday 14 August, 17–20, and we would love to see you there.

Formation Gallery will be open from Wednesday while we install — so do stop by and say hello if you’re in the neighbourhood. Format Artspace reopens Wednesday as well.

Ibiza feels both like yesterday and a long time ago. Now we’re ready for Copenhagen, new exhibitions, new works — and a new season. See you soon! ❤️

New works by Fugleburet for Enter Art Fair 2026 💫🦅

This year, we are excited to present an entirely new body of work by Fugleburet, created especially for Enter Art Fair.

The presentation brings together a new series of paintings on canvas with a sculptural relief that expand the artist’s distinctive visual language into three dimensions. Moving effortlessly between painting and object, the new works demonstrate how the same playful vocabulary of forms, colours and recurring bird-inspired motifs can unfold across different materials and spatial expressions.

Balancing spontaneity with a strong sense of composition, Fugleburet creates vibrant works that invite viewers into a universe where abstraction and figuration coexist, and where humour, intuition and craftsmanship meet.

We look forward to unveiling these new works at Enter Art Fair, taking place in Copenhagen 27–30 August 2026.

FUGLEBURET🦅 ENTER ART FAIR

For the past two months, Daniela Bergschneider has been working at the Danish Art Workshops, creating a new body of work for our upcoming duo exhibition, Skin, Shape, Shelter, with Nanna Riis Andersen.

Bringing together Bergschneider’s sculptural porcelain and textile-based works with Riis Andersen’s layered paintings, the exhibition explores ideas of protection, transformation, and the relationship between body, material, and space. Each artist approaches these themes differently, yet their works meet in a shared sensitivity to organic form, surface, and the ways we inhabit the world.

We can’t wait to see the finished works come together in the gallery.

Skin, Shape, Shelter opens on 14 August and marks the beginning of a new exhibition season at Formation Gallery after a wonderful summer.

Mark your calendar for our upcoming duo exhibition ❌

Formation Gallery is pleased to present Skin, Shape, Shelter, a duo exhibition by Danish artist Nanna Riis Andersen and German-born, Bergen-based artist Daniela Bergschneider opening August 14.

Working across painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics and textiles, the two artists explore the body not as a fixed form, but as something shaped through continuous processes of growth, adaptation and change. Their works investigate the shifting boundaries between interior and exterior, protection and exposure, solidity and fragility.
