What connects us to a home, to others, and to where we come from, even across distance?
How can images not only depict, but also create relationships?

In “Synthesizing Realities”, curated by the artist and June Drevet, Vanessa Amoah Opoku explores questions of family and belonging, connecting them to the ways technology shapes our bodies and our perception of images. At the heart of the exhibition is the collaborative book “Synthesizing Realities”, created by Opoku and art critic June Drevet, alongside three works by the artist.

Can we map care? How many memories does one square meter of a city hold? What does the word “zone” mean? Why are not all houses colourful? Why is resting in the streets not supported? And what happens if we’d greet everyone? These are just some of many questions that were asked by participants of “Writing Gathering” – a writing session with Giuliana Kiersz.

A big thanks to Giuliana Kiersz and all participants that took part in “Writing Gathering” with such dedication and thoughtfulness.

In Writing Gathering, we explored the streets of Stuttgart to re-think and re-write the narratives that inhabit them with the aim of creating new landscapes of words for a city we imagine and wish for.

We’re on the list! 🥟

The Common Kitchen project 𝑺𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 has been longlisted for „Wirkt! Kultur in Gesellschaft” by Zentrum für Kulturelle Teilhabe Baden-Württemberg (ZfKT) – an initiative highlighting cultural projects that foster dialogue and participation.

𝑺𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 took place in summer 2024 at ifa Gallery Stuttgart: for eleven days, the gallery became a communal kitchen where recipes, dishes and stories around rice, potatoes and dumplings were cooked and shared. The project brought together local communities and artists as part of a year-long programme on hospitality and cultural exchange.

In the coming weeks and months, all longlisted projects will be featured on Wirkt! Kultur in Gesellschaft.

The Writing Gathering is a sensitive space to enact writing as a social and

DE // Save the Date ✨ Eröffnung: CODA.

DE // Save the Date ✨ Eröffnung: Kosmos. Agenden, Netzwerke, Freundschaften. 28.06.26, 18:00
