Meet our current on-site artist Carly Ostler

Carly Ostler is a multidisciplinary artist interested in the intersections of art and psychology. Having studied trauma in the field of psychotherapy, Carly uses the same practices of embodiment, presence, curiosity, play and non-judgement in their art practice to allow material to draw out meaning. With practices ranging from photo, video, sculpture and documentation of site-specific ritual work, she uses her own body, personally significant environments and natural materials to encapsulate moments of transmutation.

At GlogauAIR, Carly’s, intention for this residency is first and foremost to deeply connect with herself and the world around her. From this place of connection she seeks to deepen her engagement with a body of work exploring the idea of building a home within herself. This body of work includes photography, video, sculpture and written text examining concepts of home both as a physical structure and as an ideology in relation to land and the human body. She plans to create an interactive installation including sculptural homes that can be entered and experienced as spaces of reflection.

Don’t miss the group exhibition in our Project Space, “Matriamorphosis”, curated by GlogauAIR’s curatorial resident Lihi Shmuel .

The exhibition Matriamorphosis is the radical transformation of the creative process from a solitary, competitive conquest into a communal act of stewardship, recognizing that the labor of care and the friction of living are the true foundations of artistic genius.

Meet our current on-line artist Karl von Orb

Karl works with object-based constellations drawn from everyday systems, creating subtle displacements that destabilize familiar functions. Through repetition and minimal shifts, the work reveals tension, latent absurdity, and moments where structures lose their apparent stability while remaining intact. The practice engages space as an active element, emphasizing the provisional nature of order and coherence.

At GlogauAir Karl conducts object-based and spatial investigations into how coherent systems shift through subtle displacement. The residency functions as a research phase focused on testing configurations and refining an underlying logic, prioritizing clarity of direction while maintaining openness in the process

A few weeks ago we visited .berlin in their studio, got to see their artists’ work and learn more about their practice.

Yesterday they came to visit us and we shared a glimpse into how our Artists work here at GLO.

We ended the evening with some snacks in the garden and lots of lovely conversations. Grateful for these exchanges and for getting to know each other better ! 🫂✨

Meet our current on-site artist Czeslawa Wojtkjowski

Czeslawa interrogates trans and non-binary femme representation through fiber art, new media, and collage techniques. Sourcing material from sensationalized, often disposable media like tabloids, erotic ephemera, direct-to-video VHS films. Czeslawa transforms the subjects depicted therein into precious treasures. The process ensures that every interaction with my subjects’ visages is made with the utmost intention. Thoughtfully choosing and placing photographs, fabrics, and embellishments are acts of resistance.

At GlogauAIR the artist continues the material and conceptual research through brightly colored maximalist fabric banners that assert the autonomy and rights of transgender and non binary femmes.Responding to rising political hostility Czeslawa embraces visibility and intensity as a form of resistance transforming anger into unapologetic expression. Drawing from Berlin’s q***r club culture the artist creates banners from sequins mesh and velvet combining decadence with protest to evoke the energy and defiance of q***r nightlife.
