Dear Friends, today marks the day that the mother of our founder would have celebrated her 95th birthday. Just shy of 15 days of August 1, Mother Anki van der Ree passed away on July 17, 2025. She has been a great support to all our efforts in keeping WWII history in Curacao alive by organizing groups of her elderly friends, who mostly were years younger than her, to visit our exhibitions, ceremonies and our WWII Museum Curacao. As an English and Dutch language expert, she always looked forward to ”correcting” our lectures and supporting the upcoming book by our founder on the WWII battle-stations on Blue Bay and WWII American Forces in general on Curacao. Mother Anki van der Ree has been not only the most fantastic Mom, but also the greatest encourager in keeping WWII history in Curacao alive.
Mother Anki will be enormously missed.
Thank you Mom for everything and Happy birthday in Heaven. Allan and Team.
