Every street has a story. Some carry a legacy.
Elias R.A. Moreno Boulevard is more than just a name, it honors a man whose vision helped shape Curaçao’s economic and social landscape.
From humble beginnings to becoming a pioneer in the island’s automotive industry, Elias Moreno Brandao represents resilience, innovation, and the lasting impact of Curaçao’s Jewish community.
His story lives on not only through a boulevard, but through the generations that continue building on his legacy.

The Snoa, home to the Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue, has welcomed generations since 1732, making it the oldest synagogue in continuous use in the Americas.

Rooted in continuity, this heritage also tells a story of influence; by the late 1800s, Curaçao was home to the largest Jewish community in the Caribbean.

Step inside and experience centuries of resilience, tradition, and living heritage.

This Mother’s Day, we honor the women who are the foundation of our community.
In our synagogue, the pillars bear the names of the matriarchs Sarah, Rebecca, Leah, and Rachel symbols of strength, faith, and resilience across generations.
Their legacy lives on in every mother, grandmother, and woman who continues to nurture, guide, and shape our community today.
Happy Mother’s Day

WILLEMSTAD –
